We were transferred to the Cay (a preserved bird sanctuary) in the glass bottom boat and within minutes of entering the water I came across my first turtle, sunbathing in the shallows. As a qualified Open Water Diver and having dived on the reef many times over the years, I opted to just snorkel on this trip, knowing that I would still be able to get up close and personal with the marine life. After motoring out to Michaelmas Cay we quickly moored and the fun began. This particular writer has just returned from a holiday in Cairns and spent a wonderful day out with the Passions crew.
